I am going to the London boat show I was going to drive in as far as one of the tube stations inside of the Low Emission Zone I have an old N reg Isuzu 3.1 D import I have tried looking on the GOV web site and have also asked via email with no luck does any body know if I will be OK in the Low Emission Zone.

Thanks for the help VicS & parsifal looks like I am OK

It only applies to a small number of very dirty old engines. Depending on the time of day and day of week you travel in, you can still be liable for Congestion Charging - they are two separate things...

Depends on how you define "very dirty old engines". I had a 10 year old Fiat based motorhome (Euro 2 engine) from new and have just had to sell it to someone outside the zone (I live just inside it) and buy a new one. The alternative was a charge of at least £100 a day (£500 if latepaying) or invest in a new unproved exhaust at a cost of around £4000 Or I could have converted it to a circus/fairground van as they are mostly excempt from the charge.

Hi all thanks for all the help I know the boat show is out side the congestion charge area but inside the low emission zone. What I did not know was if I was going to get stung for being in the LEZ as it has been about 6 years since I last drove in London. Behind the old Beckton Dry Ski Slope there is a small industrial estate you used to be able to park up on the road, then it was about a 5 minute walk to the nearest DLR station I used to leave my car there during the working week and on a Saturday morning but I would not leave it into the evening for obvious reasons. This may help any one driving to the show. Regards and Happy New Year to all Bill.
