Lovely welcome at Bray Cruiser Club.

"Thames was very different place back then"

Suspect the Thames is exactly the same, the boats and the boaters may have changed a tad ?

It was a lot cleaner, and never saw a shopping trolley.... I used to swim regularly in the Thames and jump off Marlow bridge for a laugh without anyone freaking out.. :D
OH... Mooring was a lot cheaper too.. ;)

Betcha The Thames today is cleaner that it has ever been in the last 100 years ? :)

Anyone remember the signs that said "No Swimming Danger of Polio" in the 1950s and 60s

Put a little pressie in her for you today-see she is shiny and back in the water xxx

I love pressies!! Thank you. :D

The hull is shiny, still need to clean the top. Can clean her now she's back in the water. Time to bribe the kids again methinks.. ;) Then the inside to do.. :D

Welcome to Bray, look forward to meeting you all on the Fitting out cruise hopefully!

If you need any help or advice on Tidal cruising, let me know, or perhaps if you want to come down to Limehouse for the Marathon cruise, we can plan a passage together, we did the same for Ramage last year, and it worked out perfectly!

See you soon :D

p.s. Clubhouse maintenance weekend coming up ;)

p.s. Clubhouse maintenance weekend coming up.

Although I'm not a member of the club, in return for any tidal cruising advise would be happy to offer my carpentry skills.

Thanks so much for the welcome. We were hoping to eet you at the BCC meeting last week. Not to worry I am sure we will meet soon.

We are not venturing to tidal waters until we are confident enough and know the boat, but help and advice greatly appreciated. I have sent in the cruises sheet. Hoping to make it to the fitting out cruise first.

Have to check my diary for the maintenance weekend. What will need doing? I am handy with a sledge hammer... :D

See you soon. :)

Wasn't that when he ran aground? Or am I mixing up my stories?!!! ;). Hehe!

:p

There was less water than our required draft, so we had to wait for a bit more tide before we could proceed. (Ok, we took the ground).

I was later that afternoon when we got the builders polythene wrapped around the starboard prop and shaft.... :(
