Lot of Boat ? DALVINA / Berthon.

If you could buy her for £0.5m and spend a million a refurb you'd effectively have a new boat at half the price.
But you still only have a boat worth £0.5m whereas if you spend the same money on a similar size boat half her age you'll get more back when you sell her. Dalvina is a lovely boat but she's going to need a rich owner that sees her as a labour of love

A bit like a floating version of Downton Abbey, easy to look at and say "wouldn't it be luvverly to live in a great big beautiful house with dozens of servants..." but only available to them as has near-enough unlimited amounts of money. And they'd all buy something else instead.

I think the balance of the accommodation is wrong for most people's use these days. 11 berths in 6 cabins but only one of them a double / "stateroom".

Looks as if it was laid out for a family with children and a crew of 2 or 3.

Silver Dee II perhaps? It's got the 'look'.
Nah. For Silver Dee 2 - stay tuned.
Dalvina is nice to look at but not to own. I've walked passed her many times in Lymington, over the years. Doesn't have the character of an old Feadship (etc) yet suffers from no modern appeal either - has a 1970s G-Plan furniture look to it. Not sure about her upkeep - the teak was pretty poor in the video (grey teak flybridge tables, urgh). I think there is more appealing stuff on the market even if Dalvina is available for 1/2mllion or whatever. Just imho.

Best bet ,is to tote it to McCarthy and Stone as a Mobil overspill in case of any short term overcapacity issues in places like Eastbourne .
Need nothing doing ..... apart from a few handles scattered arround in the heads :)

As an humble ragman, I think the boat is extremely stylish in the restrained old money manner. Matching upholstery is very Fairway Furniture.

I suppose free mooring helps with the running costs, I would bargain hard on that one.

Not convinced by the fresco above the double bed.
