Our tender parted company with our boat, in Southampton Water, yesterday (saturday) afternoon, off Netley. Could not attend to it when the loss was noted, too busy hurrying a very seasick four year old back to Hamble. Made an "All Ships" broadcast (helped a lot by Solent CG) and then back to mooring and rapid recuperation of patient. Later called in at Hamble Harbour Master's Office to report loss; was told that my tender was back at my club dinghy pontoon - brought in by a sailor who took it first to th HM's pontoon and then to my club. The dinghy was marked with my club and my home telephone number. When I arrived home there was a message from the good samaritan but he did not leave his 'phone number or address and 1471 did not work. I hope he/she reads this, it really was great to know there are such super, helpful people around. Please PM me if you were the really helpful person who made our day for us.
