I sailed from Ipswich to Scheveningen Saturday the 16th of July
The weather was Gale Force 9 and an interesting sail,
I lost overboard one white spinnicker pole
If anyone finds this could they post on here as id appreciate it back please
Its white and about 5 metres long about 3-4 inch in diameter

Yeah we made it, Quite impressed really, The thing flew accross i was wanting the weather to increase even more just to see how far we could push it, Had one reef in the main, and was averaging 9 knots over ground peaking at 11 knots on and off, she just kept riding the waves, definitely alot different than most other boats ive been on where side on a wave your freaking out you may roll, we were climbing them and still powering along, I still have loads to do to her, but i guess if she was finished id have nothing left to do, Engines the next major job to be done

I think the Bomb Disposal lads may have mistaken it for a mine and blown it up yesterday.:)

Yeah talk about selfish, She sat there on deck for 15 hrs and wouldnt give us the bucket.
Ive never known anyone to throw up for 15 hours straight,
Its also quite interesting watching someone get seasick and their actions,
I definitely think seasickness is a form of depression and not like a sickness as in to do with your stomach etc.

She definitely wasnt looking well,
It was quite funny.

Many years ago I took my ex wife sailing, I didn't think anyone could go green untill then. Seasickness must be horrible for those unfortunates that suffer from it.

Sorry, can't help with finding your pole, and apologise for thread drift.
I've never thought of Scheveningen as a destination, can you tell us a bit about it? E.g. how yacht friendly is it, are the natives friendly, that sort of thing?

Yacht Hbr on the Stbd hand. all boats must face seaward (fire regs) eateries + s/h chandlers / boat grot shop

Its more of a fishing harbour than a marina,
It seems to get a load of traffic from people passing through from zeeland to amsterdam or the nth part of Holland,
Its close to the Hague,
There did used to be Norfolk line here up until 2 yrs ago, but they gone now,
Not sure why/where
But the beach is huge and sandy, unlike the pebbles from the UK,
The town is busy in Summer as a major tourist destination from the Germans and the dutch.
Big racing port for sailing also ive noticed
70% of the boats moored here are all rigged for racing

Nice and friendly, right in the centre of town. Had a few pleasant days there.
