Under command of SWMBO we acquired a 13kg Danforth-style anchor at Sunday's jumble, along with chain and warp, for occasional use as a kedge.
Has anybody got a smart idea how and where to stow the thing without it banging about and destroying the contents of my cockpit lockers?
(The anchor that is, not the wife!)

I keep mine at the bow, lashed to some nice polished mahogany especially made to accomodate it on the deck alongside main anchor and the chain and line is then kept in a locker aft tidied in it's own bag. Providing you keep the shackle in good greased order it takes seconds to assemble. If the need arises to use it you have plenty of time to get things ready if you have been watching the weather properly!
Will be interested to know how many people rummage around in panic inside lockers at the last minute?

We had a rubber bucket with warp at the bottom then some chain then the anchor on top, with the rope end stuck out to tie ready for use.
A string line on the bucket handles and its ready for almost emmediate use, the anchor never moved as it had chain around it in the bucket!
Only used it once last year but it made the anchorage a good deal more comfortable!

I think a bucket is the way to go, but where did you then stow the anchor?
On the pushpit or a locker?
