Final chores are progressing well.. a swivel head sanding block on a 4ft pole to get under the boat to prepare for the antifoul has been a godsend.. it's made light work of an 'orrible job... a tad dissapppointed that the shiney gelcoat from a month ago is fading already but won't stop us getting the boat in the water... just need to fit the anodes, finish off with a 2nd layer of anti foul and scrub up then spray the leg with Trilux and we're ready to wet her bum... will have these last jobs sorted tomorrow.

celebrating with a pint of Thatchers in the Spinnaker bar:D

Final job will be to scrub the decks.. this is the main reason for moving from Calshot Spit.. they'd do very well to consider sorting out the gravel hard standing, staying another season would have ruined the boat.. no chance of putting the carpets down the dirt gets everwhere... look at the above picture to get an idea of the stones, mud, dirt and water lying in and around the boat that gets walked in everytime you set foot on the swim platform :(

All photos were taken with the mobile phone sorry about the poor quality.

4.5 working days to go and we'll be bobbin about with the rest of you:cool:

been looking at a few more photos of the effect the environment has on my boat at Calshot.. it's served its purpose (cheap), the guys there are brilliant and I'll miss 'em but there's really no excuse for letting the place get to the point where you 'have' to leave if you want your boat to remain in good nick.. Going to give everything a thorough clean before the move and hopefully, get the crud out the carpets in the saloon without too much effort:rolleyes:

Swim platform takes a hammering when we visit, door mat or not

Wipe your feet for an age and this still happens

Because there is very little apparent maintenance of the surrounding area in and around the boats..

very much looking forward to a clean marina with boards to step on/off rather than a **** hole

Will you be staying onboard Saturday night ?
Was thinking of popping over Sunday morning.

certainly will Roy, would be great to see you... we'll be there all week as it goes so should even be able to do the little soiree on the 5th.. Deb's entered an age of endless parties I think, she's out (again) this coming weekend in Brighton and will be joining us on Sunday afternoon if I can summon the energy to pick her up ;)
