Our spec is twin volvo diesels, 30 - 35ft, £55,000 ish, good seakeeping in a force 4/5 and a boat that isn't too old.
With that in mind, we set off for SIBS and spent all day there on Saturday gathering information and drinking free bubbly (by the bottle it felt like!) at the boatshed stand - thanks guys, the hangover this morning was worth it! Even more thanks when you manage to sell our boat /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I have to say that the staff we spoke to on the Sealine and Cranchi stands, as well as those on the boatshed stand, were greatly helpful and gave advice we were very grateful for, despite us owning up immediately to not being in the new boat market. We were very impressed.
Today saw us on the used boat hunt and having seen sealine ambassador 310 and a statesman in addition to a aTarga 29 and a S28 a while ago, we seem to have set our stall out on a Chranchi Giada 30 (or at least, we haven't changed our mind for at least 30 mins /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) once we find the right one price wise. She has extremely comfortable seating uptop and below, no radar arch but we reckon one could be fitted, Plenty space for us, excellent storage (with shelves and everything!) heads that don't require the skills of Houdini to get in and out of, the engines we want and according to reports so far, the seakeeping capabilities. Her use of space and storage seems superior to the Targa 29 and the S28 and she is much newer and more modern in finishings and lay out to the older Sealines. No heating though so fingers crossed for the 60:40 split!
We were thinking of holding out for a Zaffiro 34 but it is likely to be out of our price range, the 30 offers us all that we want and will still dry berth, so the 34 may well be something for the future /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.
Any comments are welcome - we've gone over this so much in our head it will be nice to have some new thoughts!
