Looks like the Maidstone River Festival IS going ahead.

I attended the river festival yesterday, and the event was much smaller than usual. No fireworks or funfair this year

Don't know where you were then, the fair was where it always is on the industrial estate car park (by David Lloyd and Frankie & Bennys) and the fireworks at 10:30 were absolutely blinding (as usual). I agree the laid on events were on a much smaller scale, but there will always be a boaters festival (which is how it all started)....

Yup thought the fireworks were brillant and much better that the Castle Gardens prom concert the previous week.
The council has got to make its bluddy mind up if it wants the money spent in the town during the festival or not.It was only a few weeks before the event that the boating world realised it was going ahead after months of being told it was off.;(

I thought it looked pretty busy.
Still loads of boats there early hours of sunday morning, im guessing some had already gone.
