Looks like a new breed of car transporter

I can't decide wether its uglier or pretier than the Grimaldi one the old folks spent 5 weeks on going round the Med and locally. These things seem to beautiful in that they are good at what they do, but look awfull.

Britain now exports more cars than at any time since quite a long time ago. Pre British Leyland maybe.

The problem is that the market is many times bigger now than before, so still a smaller percentage of total demand, back in 1992 we were even exporting Rover's to Japan.

We are building the cars, but were does the profit go ?

The profit, as it ever did, when any is made, goes to the shareholders. The wages go the workers. The employment taxes go to HMG. The council tax goes to the local authority. The outspend goes to the component and sub assembly suppliers, many local.

The problem is that what we get is very small part of the retail cost of a car. In 1990 @ Rover 1 man made 40 cars a year, not a lot of employment tax, rates are a minute value, component suppliers make very little, the value is selling the finished cars.

I wonder what she'd be like in a big sea? I have visions of green water streaming upwards past the bridge.

Like all car carriers it's dependent on the 1st Mate getting the ballast right, but even with proper ballasting in a storm they bob around like a washing boyne in a mill race.
