Hello All,
I've just moved to Brighton from Portsmouth where I was studying for the past three years for my degree (I'm originally from Bristol). Having just finished university and two years with the University Royal Naval Unit in Southampton and Portsmouth. I am now looking for a way to get back onto the water for some sailing. My experience sailing under wind is minimal and based solely in the Solent.
However with the URNU I have sailed around the UK, into the Orkney Islands, the Channel Islands, and Northern France under power in a P2000 patrol craft. This involved a number of pilotages, paper chart work, Electronic chart work, watch-leading (under-supervision), night sailing, ship/light recognition, cooking at sea, as well as small amounts of diesel engine maintenance. I would be very interested in partnering up or working with a skipper/crew in the East Sussex, West Sussex or Hampshire area in order to enjoy some good company, sailing, as well as to learn, with an idea of tackling a longer voyage in the following year(s)
Can also make damn good wets!(If I do say so myself).
