Hi
I've been inland dinghy sailing at Hollowell Sailing Club for the last three years, but in March this year I passed my Day Skipper Practical. I plan to spend the rest of this year consolidating my experience before purchasing a sailboat early next year (probably something under 30ft).
To date all of my yachting experience has in the Solent, a total of about 230 miles. I have a newly acquired RYA First Aid certificate, as well as the RYA VHF licence. I've joined a local cruising association (Bromsgrove Boaters), but most of their sailing events are out of season as members are generally away sailing further a field in the Summer.
I'm keen to get as much sailing experience as possible, so happy to do any job around the boat. The fact that I live in the Midlands makes little difference, since the coast is a long way away from me in any direction! Unfortunately, I'm limited to just long weekends this year, but I can commit to slight longer (a week or so) next year.
I'm pretty easy going, so hopefully I'll get on with most people.
