lost boat

I know the boat is for sale and in Liverpool Marina. I have viewed the boat and would like to find out a bit about its history. The photos on this site show a very different boat to what she is like now and I wondered how she got into such a poor condition and how long she has been neglected to get into this condition. There is a survey which is just over 12 months old which says she was in good condition but I find it very hard to believe she could have deteriorated to such an extent in 12 months so would like to know how old the photos are.

Google searches suggest the orthodox 'Fer-a-lite'(appears to be a brand name) is similar to conventional ferro; an armature or mesh framework, in this instance of stainless steel, laid up with a proprietary mortar comprising of a polyester resin plus what they coyly refer to as 'additives custom tailored for the requirements of boat hulls constructed with steel reinforcement'. I'm taking a stab in the dark and guessing this means short fibres(glass, possibly carbon) and perhaps other material boosting impermeability. Some builders seem not to trust this fully, because they overlay it with often very thick layers of conventional GRP layup. It sounds very expensive to me, which probably explains why it's not very common.
