Looking For Opportunities / Experience

Hi,

I am completely new to yachting but have recently been considering taking it up as a new life experience and also a possible alternative means of travelling abroad to flying. I'm currently looking for any opportunities to gain myself some experience crewing a yacht.

I live in Cambridge (UK), am 32 years old and am in relatively good shape. I'm willing and able to undertake physical work and whatever needs to be done when crewing a yacht.

I plan to take some lessons on dinghies on some local lakes / rivers in the near future, but would also like to help crew a boat on the sea at some point.

The East Anglian coast is the most accessible for me, so if anyone is looking for some help crewing for a weekend, or possibly a week, in the near future, please give me a shout!

I am a pro skipper, renting a 40 fts boat for a trip to azores.
Have empty place for back from azores, and if you want come with me and share experience, the price is 700 euros, including renting, food, diesel, harbour,...

the trip is from ponta delgada to les sables d'olonne (vendee globe city), and the departure date from azores is the 30 july for twelve days sailing.

I am moving my boat, a Newbridge Virgo Voyager, from Portsmouth to Aberystwyth. The schedule is from 10th August and should take three weeks. I currently have crew however he has just had his gallbladder removed and want to line up some standby crew's. The basis would be to share the costs.
