Loads about how poor the cables are on these on the web but anyone know where to buy original or generic replacement ?
Ray not supporting them

I bought a generic curly cable from amazon, drilled out the the old one through the cable supports as best as possible and soldered the new cable to the old cable's plugs. If that makes sense.
The radio end is a dog leg so I ended up removing the whole thing.

Then you just use a bit of epoxy to glue it all in place and to keep water out..

I used Marine Electronics to renew a Simrad RD68 mic and new cable when they were doing a batch at £95.
Very pleased as the radio is excellent ,just batch of rubbish original cable.
That connector didn't allow thoughts of successful DIY.
