First time posting, I hope this is the right place.

We've been handed down an old Thames rowing skiff from the mid to late 1800s. The only information I’ve been able to find about these boats is from this article: Powerhouse Collection - Thames rowing skiff made by T.G. Tagg & Son, England, c.1888

Our boat, however, only has T.G. Tagg on the maker’s plaque, with no mention of “& Son,” which makes me suspect it could be an earlier build, although it looks almost identical to the one featured in the article.

One difference is the size: our skiff measures ~700 cm, whereas the one in the article is listed as 850 cm.

The plaque also says No 28, would that be the model number or the 28th boat produced?

I’d really appreciate any information about this boat, and if anyone has an idea of its potential value, I’d be grateful to hear!

Thats a beauty, I would say 28 is the build number, ie the 28th boat built.
