Looking for Info (Mk 2)

OK guys the first post hit the rocks @ ybw so here we go again<s>

My club has a need for a "committee" boat and I've drawn the short straw to come up with some answers.

I figure a boat about 35-40' long, beamy, probably twin engines, quick, not needed to go offshore, must be able to look after 8-10 persons for the day, cooking crapping etc, no over night stuff,

We would buy the hull/deck moulded and do the rest ourselves.

I'm thinking Lochin, Offshore, Cygnus type hulls!

Reasonable w/house but with plenty of deck space.

I'm not thinking of Princess or Fairline because I need a more commercial hull not a "Gin Palace" type (and thats NO disrespect to those owners, because if I had the chance I would probably own one)

What do you think?

And any comments on type, costs etc gratefully recieved.
How much to put twin engines in?
How much to fit it out?

You must be a rich club!!, we rely on borrowing members or friends boats for committee boat, result a 27 foot yacht to a 80 foot motor yacht.

Club that runs a good number of open events ,,YES

These events are a valuable source of income and as such we need to look to the long term future (40+ years) so hence my question(s)

Ah yes the good 'ol Alert II. Got stopped by her some years ago after blatting through the entance to the Colne at ahem knots in a moment of brainfade. Shame to see her out of service - have they replaced her with something newer or is this more police cutbacks?

no replacement alas, covered by the Southend boat Vigilant, sadly missed by we in the Bradwell area, they have a rib in the summer to curb the speedsters.
