CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME?
I'm new to the forum and someone suggested I write this post in this section as I might be able to get lucky and get some help from other forum member or at least some good sound advice.
I have just purchased a 1989 Beneteau Oceanis 350 that I viewed, liked and have decided to buy, the boat is lying on the hard near Nieuwpoort Belgium.
I will need to go back over ASAP to Belgium in order to rub down and treat the keel then anti foul the boat and get her plonked back into the water ready for her trip home to the UK
Are there any forum members that could or be willing to help me bring the boat back to the UK with me in the not too distant future, I can contribute to any travel costs, food, vodka, cigarettes, a bit of ca$h payment but please bear in mind that my budget is quite limited, I cannot afford www.platimunyachtdelivery200.com prices!
I have limited experience in this kind of crossing as I have only sailed with others long distance and by myself in local waters on my last 32ft sailing boat which is now sold.
I have RYA Day Skipper, Powerboat 1 & 2 and my VHF ticket.
I live aboard so the sooner I get the boat back to the UK the better, as the old boat will be being picked up by its new owner in a few weeks so I am eager to get her back to blighty as soon as possible without taking unnecessary risks etc.
I know I will have to prepare and look for a good weather window, and I do get that this time of year can be a bit dodgy to say the least.
If anyone can help me or give me some pointers I would be eternally grateful.
At first I was a bit embarrassed to put this post up at first but I have been assured that most of the people who are on the forum don't bite, can someone out there please help me??
Sorry I did not specify where the boat needs to be in the UK, it will go to it's new home port of Portland, Dorset. :encouragement:
You can contact me here or call me 07860 803876
All replies and suggestion will be taken seriously and with thanks, Newbie in need of help Thomas
