Hi everybody,

My boyfriend and me just bought an 11,33m sailing boat and are so looking forward to moving her up north to Inverness where we live.

As we are totally new to this whole sailing thing, I was wondering if you could give us some advice on where to 'keep' her. Either a marina or what about keeping her 'in mooring'? Is that also an option?

Thanks a million in advance for your advice. Much appreciated!

Best regards,
Myrna

Welcome to the forum. Inverness Marina is a very good bet. Now that Chanonry Sailing Club has ceased to have moorings, the only other place that I can think of here would be Cromarty, which are seasonal moorings. I don't know about Nairn, Lossiemouth or Findhorn.
I've been at Inverness Marina almost since the beginning, and can't (really) fault it as it's very professionally run and maintained, but don't tell them that FFS as the rates will go up.....!
Edit: I should've mentioned Avoch of course, but reckon that you'd be too big for there, but it could be somewhere to bear in mind.

What does 11,33m mean? 11 metres / 33 feet?

Avoch only has limited space and you would have to enquire with the harbour master if there is a space available, but Avoch is a drying harbour so generally only lifting or bilge keels so it stands upright at low tide, not really suitable for a fin or long keel. And since we don't know the boat or type of keel.

The comma (or a dot) on the line is an accepted use for a decimal place separator in S. I. hence 11 meters and 33 centimeters. Eleven meters is not thirty three feet, hence it’s very probable a decimal comma.
