Hello!
I have just moved my boat to wisbech and I obviously know noone there! Im looking for a sailing buddy, as although strictly speaking 'I can sail', Im no where near competant enough to sail either on my own or in unfamilliar waters.
Im looking for someone near wisbech who can sail (without a boat of their own maybe?). Or even someone who lives anywhere between birmingham (where I live) and cambridge as I could pick you up on the way.
Im not after tuition, but someone whos competant. Age is totally no issue for me either, or even whether youre a couple of people or not. Im easy with long weekends away or an afternoons sailing here and there. And Im open to someone whos really hands on (taking on a skippers roll) or just a passenger who likes fishing/sea air/sailing who could step in when I needed it.
Do you know of any retired seamen!? Show them this post!
Or someone whos had to give up their boat?
Or could you help me out yourself even if you do have a boat, maybe just fancy a change of vessel!?!
For those interested:
My Boat:
Breda, 6.8m GRP, bermuden rigged sloop, very heavy iron fin keel, custom built to cross the atlantic around 1990. Does 7 knots on a good day. Can be sailed single handed, 2 decent beds, 2 more 5ft6 beds. Fully refitted this summer. Outboard engine.

Me:
Mat, 24, used to climb but got bad knees so Im now sailing (I love a challenge)! Plastics engineer by trade, practical, like a few beers now and then, having a laugh when its safe to do so and being out experiencing life and not the TV!
Let me know! Ideally Id like to get quite a few people as buddies as that way im guaranteed to always have someone on call for a sail!
Cheers guys and gals!
