You know if I were in the market for a crusing yacht for circumnavigating I might consider flying to some of the classic cruising locations around the world. Panama Tahiti Darwin Capetown where one might find circumnavigators who have found it necessary to give up the dream. A load of cash in hand and you could pick up something well suited and already kitted out and half way along the circumnavigation. just a thought olewill

Makes sense for some but we have a couple of problems in the EC if bringing a boat back - RCD compliance and VAT, both of which can boost the price considerably. Some very good buys nearer to home in the Med.

>Doesn't Hawk belong to one of the YM occasional correspondents.???

Yes. I don't know if Evans and Beth are stopping sailing or buying a new boat, hopefully he will let us know. They are one of the most experienced long distance sailors ever.

I recall a post by Evans that due to Beth's health they are unable to continue cruising.

Thanks for that I missed it, what a horrible thing to happen they must miss cruising, I feel very sorry for them both and they have my best wishes.
