Looking for a company that can make deck wood look new again

Do it yourself. Treat it with Boracol and all the green will go away. Just needs treating once a year. If you then want to clean it further use the Wessex Chemicals two stage cleaner which came out top in the recent test in YM. Not a specialist job, just grafting but you could pay a valeting service to do it for you if you don't have the time or inclination.

+1

well on mine i would like to keep the colour like when sanded would it help if i used boracol then when dry used semco

The US Makers advise cleaning the deck after sanding to lift out the dust, then treat with Semco.

I used 1 US Gallon to do two coats over my entire deck including the gunwale cap rail. My deck is mostly teak covered (32' boat).

It took me two Saturday mornings to clean the deck. It wasn't hard work, but quite time consuming, although very satisfying as you see the end result immediately the green goes on. I used a soft hand brush to spread the red gently in along the grain, which some will say you shouldn't do, but my deck was very very dirty, and the brush was soft. I used it diluted 5 parts water to 1 part wessex Red then Green. The muck just rises out of the surface. Do about 2-3 m2 at a time, then hose off before applying the green in similar dilution. I used a spray bottle with about 1/2 litre mixed each time.

When I bought my boat I was expecting ~ £6-8 k for a new deck within 3 years, so £120 just spent on the Semco and Wessex then £50 per year to keep the Semco topped up is I feel exceptionally good value.

It is frost and ice that kills a dirty grainy teak deck, and my priority last Autumn was to get the Semco on once the Wessex treatment showed me there was actually a decent deck beneath the crud.

I generally find Force 4 ok for 291. Not sure about the grade recommended for affixing teak.

If you only part use a tube store it in the freezer as it stops it going off in the tube.

i have gone with 3M for affixing it had good report in pbo for grp at good price ,better than silkaflex but will use 291 to caulk i might go for white have you seen any aND WHAT DO U THINK

That would be brave !

I have never seen a white caulked deck. I would be very wary as it will likely dull off yellow after a while and will show every minor mark.

Yes I have now got all one side off today I am taking it home to lean up so the question is when I refit do I use the original screw to hold it dow while the glue goes off or what I would like to do is drill out the screw holes out at home for the teak plugs then when I fit the teak I would just use bigger washers while the glue goes off any ideas
