Looking for a bigger boat and advice

I haven't wrote them off , we will try to have a look at one , we are going to see a cruiser yachts today on v drives and D4 260 engines .
How did you find the Cruisers? We had a 280CXi with twin VP D3’s. Lovely boat and well made, never trusted the engines as they were the 1st generation. Thankfully, problems were few…

The 280 cxi was a nice boat but the gally table was up against my belly pretty much which put us off , it also had the D3 160 engines , we looked at a 330 express yesterday which we really liked , I had z drives and D4 260 engines .
We also looked at a cessa 30 which was nice , but the price was nearing a 34 foot boat and I'd prefer a boat with a fixed front bed

I do like the sealine s34 but mostly they have the kad 32 engine and from what I read they are a little underpowered for a 34ft boat .

I have a F33 with kad32's which is heavier than a S34 and it goes fine.
But I guess if you want a speed boat you would like more power.

Sterndrive boats tend to have the advantage of better engine access than a shaft drive boat of the same size.
kad32's in a S34 leaves plenty of space for maintenance.

I have preference for kad engines over the later Volvo Penta engines due to the lack of dependence on ECU's.

I see what you mean with the lack of engine space with the bigger engine , I looked at a cruiser yachts 330 with D4 260s and there is hardly any room around the outside of the engines , we like the boat though so put a deposit down and subject to survey we be having it ?

We really like the F33, BW currently has a very nice one for sale, it’s a 2002 model. We have just taken delivery of a new boat and it’s new home is not too far from you!
if we had planned on staying on the Trent long term I think it’s the boat we would have gone for, but ours may well move in the next 18/24 months to the coast or we will upgrade to a bigger non-flybridge boat.
Maybe we will see you in a lock or when we visit to fuel our boat.??
