Look what Iv'e got !

You never know what you're going to find unless you shake the bushes a bit. But we'll wait and see if the Major rises to the occasion. ;D

I think I prefer our, and the Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, Indian, Pakistani, British Caribbean - Okay, all the places we used to own - smart march, to the American stroll.

Now, the Light Infantry do it faster!

And the Gurkhas do it smarter!

The light infantry double apparently was an efficient way of moving a large body of lightly armed men into flanking positions on the battlefield.

I read that Kevin Rudd's lot are having a spot of bother with their poll rating.

Your knowledge knows no bounds Major, even politics in remote civilisations.

Ruddy, after spending his way out of the GFC with local stimulus packages, most of which have been total disasters, is now looking to inflict a 40% tax on the mining industries 'super profits', to rebuild the coffers.

The massive mining companies, strangely enough, are funding an expensive hate campaign against his government, while he is spending 20 million to tell us how wonderful the government is.

At least the media's getting rich ;-)

MajorC, where they once known as the Royal Green Jackets? I used to know some guys from that mob, did'nt they march at some ridiculous pace of 130 or something?
Probably totally wrong just from my memory, which ain't what it used to be!
But then again, I believe that at Dartmouth, the 'snotties' do everything 'at the double'

All Light Infantry, or The Rifles, as they are now known and the Gurkhas march at this quick pace.

To compensate they immediately adopt the At Ease position as soon as they halt and all commands are given while at the At Ease.

I attended a Light Infantry trooping of the colours once and was very impressed at the speed and control these lads had. Even more amazing is seeing the band and bugles play their instruments at the quick march. It seems all very furious.

The double march, as in the last video, seems odd as it appears a lot of effort to go to and not move very fast. It is very different to the double march as done by other units and much loved by training establishments.

Much of light infantry drill is done with the rifle at the trail position.
