Loo\'ard

Celebrated YM contributor Dick Durham uses this term in his article 'Plane Sailing' in this months YM

Can members of the forum please enlighten this member as to what this term refers to?

The assumption is that is something to do with solids in his sea toilet - but that makes no sense at all when read in the context of the article.

I feel certain that the editorial team of this prestigious magazine would not allow corruption of the term 'Leeward' so it cannot be that - enlighten bretheren, I pray.

Re: Loo\'ard

I beleive it means you he's going to give you a lump of cheese instead of the pint he owes you.

I just won a bet with myself

I knew you'd be the first to respond!!
Anyway - Oh wondrous one - now that you are in print in YM I suppose you'll be demanding extra levels of respect from we lowly mortals

Re: eh?

The scuttlebutt panel has a post on it and your reply was featured - rude but witty, disrespectful, succinct - the Twister Ken we know and love!!
Anyway - don't come the innocent with me - bet you've sent a copy out with all your christmas cards!!
