I have a Ranger 245 which has a folding door on the loo. This is normally tied back apart from when the loo is being used , of course.
SWMBO does not like looking at the loo when living in the boat and is driving me mad with ideas to close it off.
I propose to just attach a couple of catches that will allow the existing folding door to be shut from the outside.
She favours beaded curtains and pull down blinds etc. which I think will last about 10 seconds under the duress of stamping feet etc. when the boat is banging about in any seaway.

Have any forumites come up with any other ideas ?

(on such a small boat there is no space for a solid door)

TIA

Let her do what she wants !!!!!!!!
Then when it does not work fit the catches you want to fit!

We had the same problem on a Hunter 272. We had catches on the outside which were OK but I still found the folding door a pain. In the end we took it off and fitted a "modesty curtain" which worked fine and did not bang about etc. Stayed that way for several years until we sold the boat when I refitted the door.

One solution i have seen on the clipper fleet is doors made from marine acrylic press studded onto the frame, with zips sewn into the fabric. To open just unzip and step in.
If its in the way just unpop the press studs and roll it up.
