One of my long-term (sailing) plans included visiting St Petersburg with Tigger, as part of a Baltic cruise. Round about 2028-9.

What do you guys reckon are the chances of achieving that, given what is happening these weeks at those longitudes?

I think that it is a good idea to have plans, whether it is to sail round the world or just do an extended canal trip across Britain. It may or may not happen, but the anticipation and planning will be good for the morale and should be enjoyable in its own right. My own Baltic experience is only in the south and west and therefore of not much help. A fellow club member did manage to get to Helsinki and back in one season in a Nic 32 and another did St Petersburg in modest old yawl, but he is somewhere to the left of Corbyn anyway.

That’s an image of an oligarch’s lackey’s marina (lawyers, accountants etc). Oligarchs are on another level.
( you gorra have a wee laugh )
eastern they are " oligarch's lackeys " ,, in the west they are captains of industy , friends of presidents , politicians , high ranking military etc etc
