Long-term plans

One of my long-term (sailing) plans included visiting St Petersburg with Tigger, as part of a Baltic cruise. Round about 2028-9.

What do you guys reckon are the chances of achieving that, given what is happening these weeks at those longitudes?

Knowing what’s going to happen tomorrow is hard enough - as to 2028, you must be joking!

Visiting St Putinburg in 2028 shouldn't be a problem.

I think that it is a good idea to have plans, whether it is to sail round the world or just do an extended canal trip across Britain. It may or may not happen, but the anticipation and planning will be good for the morale and should be enjoyable in its own right. My own Baltic experience is only in the south and west and therefore of not much help. A fellow club member did manage to get to Helsinki and back in one season in a Nic 32 and another did St Petersburg in modest old yawl, but he is somewhere to the left of Corbyn anyway.

Brexit has done much more damage in this respect. But then, that is part and parcel of the same activities.
