Hello
Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK I could rent a narrowboat to live aboard for a month or so?
I've been thinking of a change of pace and moving to a narrowboat for awhile now, but I have absolutely no experience in boating! I'd like try it out before I take the plunge (to make sure it is the right thing for me), however everywhere I've looked requires that there must be more than one person aboard and won't rent out to solo people.
Thanks

We did something similar. But there are two of us, and we had to move out of our house for 6 months (turned out to be 9):while our house was underpinned. We bought a narrow boat thinking, correctly as it turned out, that it would be easy to sell for what we'd paid for it. I think you need to spend a whole winter before deciding it's the life for you. When our house was ready for reoccupation, we sold it. But we'd decided the narrow boat was too narrow, and commissioned a new widebeam hull which we fitted out.
Still happy after 23 years, but we spend our summers cruising in our catamaran.
