Hoping the combined knowledge of the forum can help me here. I have a Beneteau Antares 8.8, the port and starboard nav lights are on the side of the pilothouse. On top I have a retractable nav light and the bulb is duff. Does any one know how to get in to the housing, have struggled but can not get it open.

Any ideas gratefully received

Hard to say without a picture showing which brand/model of light it is (Bene will have bought it from one of the catalogue suppliers like Aqua Signal etc etc) but several I have had over the years involve a twist off bayonet cap or lens, and the plastic has been so brittle and unyielding that they need huge torque to unjam them and remove the cap or lens to get to the bulb. So I would say grip it hard and twist anticlockwise with 10x the force you were expecting. Squirt of penetrating oil would help too

BTW, your post title is your choice of course but you are imho making it a longer shot than it needs to be. There's nothing to attract Beneteau Antares owners (of which this forum has several) to click on it :)
