Tastes fine to me in tea or on cereals but not on its own.

Agree.

It's all we had deep sea in the MN and I tended to lash plenty of muesli in on top of it to bury the taste. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

At home we often use UHT milk as a standby when we run out of fresh milk. The 35p/litre UHT 'Smart Price' skimmed milk stuff from Asda has a life of about 4 months, maybe more. This is OK for all uses, with the possible exception of cereals. For breakfast we use the 45p/litre full fat UHT - which has the advantage of a closeable spout as well as a 'thicker' feel.

If you've not tried UHT in the last 2-3 years, try it again. The awful taste has gone, it's now down to whether you can stand watery milk or need the thicker stuff.

I do use Marvel for my tea at work (have done so for 20 years). The cartons need to be properly moisture proof for long life, so don't try to be economical & get the big boxes - you end up wasting the last 1/4 as it absorbs water & goes lumpy. I think Marvel makes revolting liquid milk when mixed up compared to the UHT stuff. Definitely NOT for cereal. Fine for sprinkling on tea or coffee.

Regards

Richard.
