Just a few cables from Boulters Lock
www.tmba.org.uk
Got a 6" diameter inspection pipe on my boat....sort of a weed hatch...lets me see down to the prop if it gets fouled but too deep to reach with my little arms.
Need some sort of long handled knife or cutters.

Tried lashing a serrated bread knife to a pole with cable ties but not really up to it.......any ideas?

Have you considered a tree lopper, one of those that has a serated blade with a ratchet mechanism on a pole, and a rope to pull the blade shut through the ratchet mechanism. If it can cut branches, it should be capable of rope.

BTW if you combine cable ties with duct tape, you can get a remarkably stable join.

Thats what you get when you buy a boat with a-deeper-than-advertised draught.........You can't reach the prop!!/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Got one of them things in the barge. Flog it and get a proper boat. Nowt stops Mucky Farters engines, much!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Dont tell Deb's /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

What about something like this?

As someone who has had their head stuck under the boat at St Kats with Mrs Unit 18's best bread knife cable tied to a boat hook I'd go for either, bloody plastic sheeting!
And anyway if I've got to take on Boatone how do I know he won't resort to that fiendish laser he's got disguised as an antenna?
I want one of these.

The laser gun uses radar to track targets

Frankly, old chap, I think you'll agree with me that Seaspray must have lost his marbles if he thinks a couple of ex BP Tanker guys are going to scrap over something as trivial as a night out with Forbsie /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif .....and I suspect his days are numbered referring to him as a "fair maiden" although maybe that suggests they had both been imbibing overmuch - a rare occurrence they'll have you believe.

Personally, I'd rather we joined forces to sort the b*st*rds that chuck the rubbish in the river.

Oh....and the raygun/antenna/scanning doobreywotsit thingy does pull in some very good tv pictures ! Most peeps are fascinated and very few realise it is a tv aerial /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I hear you've just upgraded.

Could'nt believe it, spent 1.5 hours cutting the stuff off, then on the way home, yup, stutter, rumble, vibration, [--word removed--]!
