London Boat Show.....

well i had a fantastic time....take my hat off to ''FAIRLINE'' as the stand they put up was without doubt the show winner for me ( and thats not just because i own a fairline ).....you could simply walk up to the fairline range and have a good look round them taking your time oh and thats not forgetting the well not bad looking chicks on the stand ...with sunseeker and princess you had to make appointments and the que's were as long as the local KFC on a sunday tea time....crazy.....i did get the opportunity to have a look on one of the sunseekers and to be fare they were fantastic...build quality awesome.....plenty to do and see at the show..we had a really great day......dont know if ''James Barke from Essex Boat Yard '' ever reads these forums but a massive thanks to 'James' for his hospitality at the show.....like i say Fairline really do seem to make a massive effort with the stand......great day had by all...........

The show stealer for me had to be the princess 95 which a lady called Wendy at Princess gave me the grand tour of, beautifull boat, Fairline were very hospitable but i did think sunseaker came accross a little pretentious and a little too "Bling Bling" heres a picture of the helm on the princess which i was toally mezmorized by..



was also looking for some musto jackets on the day and found Biester Village outlet to be Cheaper than the show prices for the 2009 gear.

Good to hear some positive feedback from the show! Are you on pistonheads per chance? I'm sure i know the username from somewhere. It'll be interesting to see how busy Raymarine are given all the negative press of late.

that 58 Targa looks very nice, I always liked the new model since they showed its renderings the past August
looks they have a winner with it

did you see how the tender launch worked on that, there was a big argument about it here...

I am surpised by the Sunseeker comments, they have always had an open door policy and welcomed as many people as they can on board, unless of course they have clients (and rightly so). Apart from the dealers the stand is mostly staffed by Sunseeker Int empolyees be it the factory or the office as in nice friendly folk from Poole.

Pic 5 is a bit puzzeling. There seems to be handrails fitted to the bathing platform (boat on left) or are these there as temporary barriers for the show?.
Also,same boat. Is that a stand up shower I see? if so I think that's a great idea as the pull out hose on my old Phantom 46 was too short which resulted in a crouched shower
and while I'm at it, what is going on with the transom door entrance to the cockpit. I see a handle at the top but I can't figure it.
Anybody?

I had to take SWMBO's chequebook away as she was smitten with the new 58. They had video of the pasarrelle and tender mechanisms, but weren't showing them in the flesh. Storage in the owners cabin looked tight for the size of boat. Nick Barke of Essex Boatyards said it hadn't been in the water yet.

Sunseeker were letting everyone on the boats on Sunday, if you were willing to wait you could get on them all I think. Fairline had barriers, but they seemed relaxed about guarding them, and we had very good attention on all three main stands.

All 3 of your Qs are re the new Sq65. The railings are permanent fixture on the boat, not just for the show. At 70foot ish and above, it gets quite common to have these railings. They slot in/out for launching the tender

The shower is a clever bit of thinking by FL. It hinges up on gas struts. Will catch on i hope, though I hope it doesn't stop you showering when the tender is unlaunched...

That's not a doorway/gate twixt cockpit and bathing platform. It's the door to the crew cabin, in the up position. Hard to explain, check out web pics of Sq65 and you'll see what i mean

I might have made a quick assumption bassed on the particuar chap at sunseeker, a friend said that they were very helpfull with him, i must have caught him at the wrong moment i guess.

Still very much enjoyed the show though and i was plesently suprised about how welcoming and friendly the stands were.
