Loft insulation.

Doggy I will overlook your posts on CH boilers.

Subcontractor for local development had some rolls left after he was laid off.(no it wasn't knocked off he showed me his invoices and as a fellow Kent International Darts Team member is a man of absolute probity). 70 sqm cost £52, at B&Q it would have been £120.

I have 1 roll left which you are are welcome to.(collection only)

That apart, best deal I have seen is at B&Q 5.4 sq metre for £9. But I think offer ends soon.

It is truly the nastiest DIY job I have done and our loft is totally clear of rubbish. and If I ever had to have it done again I'd pay British Gas £200 to do it for me.

For the area above Loft hatch and surroundings I made a quilt using the Poly packaging stapled and filled with the mineralwool with a bit of jiggling it seems to work quite well. I made a cover for the tankage with roofing battens and covered with my poly quilts.

As a final sophistication I put one of my remote Temp sensors (from Aldi........of course) in the tank compt so that I can keep an eye on things.

-4 forecast for tonight the acid test.

Putting loft insulation aside for a sec, there are some terrific deals out there to do cavity wall insulation as well if you have such things as cavity walls. We could get ours done now for about half what we paid ten years ago. Speak to your power providers in the first instance and shop around.

Just think, if it were possible to insulate your house perfectly, you'd only need to heat it once.
