Lofrans Windlass

Rob

I also have a Lofrans & had the same problem, take the motor out & test it with starting cables & battery, if it does not run there its the motor, on mine it was the brushes in the motor wich ware almost gone & didnt touch the rotor enough to get it running, pretty straitforward to open the motor, 3 long screws, take the brushes out go & to carshop where they refurb. starters & alternators they have them in the old stock, they are large ones with a corner off & a wire connected, modify them to the same shape (they cut easely) and test, saves you £££ in buying a new motor!

If i took the solenoid out and joined the red to one of the grey it wouldnt turn the motor it would just blow the trip

[/ QUOTE ]Why the conditional tense? Did you connect the red? Did it blow the trip? What is the current rating of the trip? Did the motor make any movement whatsoever?
