Hi
Anyone know where I can get a new 1000w 12v motor for my Lofrans Kobra windlass?
Both the main importers quote a 4 to 6 week delivery.
I need one before the holidays.

Hope Brian won't mind my 'piggybacking' his request, but can anyone advise the main parts stockists for Lofrans in the UK? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

A firm call ECS [= EC Smith] Ltd. They have a website.

Sit down before consulting spare parts pricelist!

Re: 12 volt motors. A few years ago I found a firm specialising in dc motors when looking for a motor for the Old Guvnor's golfing trolley. I can't remember the name but a bit of googling might find it.

Thanks, with a new motor costing £500 I'm going to scratch about for a complete one at bargin price and keep the old one for spares.

Thanks T.O, I'm used to taking a couple of Alka Seltzer and having a lie down before checking any prices these days! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Why not try a motor rewinding firm, I,m sure they are a permanent magnet field so its only the armature to rewind, guessing £200 should easy cover it. 30yrs ago I would have done it for about £50! !
