I have an old Lofrans Tigress Windlass with a 10mm chain and gypsy (though the chain is a bad fit as the links are a bit long).
Due to the chain locker layout the chain is run about 150 degrees around the gypsy and led into the locker down a stainless chute. The original stripper arm was removed together with its mounting lugs to enable this. I now want to make a stripper arm to prevent the occasional problem of the chain going completely round and getting jammed. To do this I need some dimensions, in particular the overall diameter and width of the 10mm gypsy, and the diameter of the gypsy in the chain groove, i.e. the smallest diameter where the stripper arm has to fit. From the drawing on the Lofrans website I have some dimensions and have used my CAD program to calculate that the spindle axis is 147mm high from the base and about 95mm back from the front of the base. Can anyone confirm those dimensions?
