I have an old Lofrans Tigress Windlass with a 10mm chain and gypsy (though the chain is a bad fit as the links are a bit long).
Due to the chain locker layout the chain is run about 150 degrees around the gypsy and led into the locker down a stainless chute. The original stripper arm was removed together with its mounting lugs to enable this. I now want to make a stripper arm to prevent the occasional problem of the chain going completely round and getting jammed. To do this I need some dimensions, in particular the overall diameter and width of the 10mm gypsy, and the diameter of the gypsy in the chain groove, i.e. the smallest diameter where the stripper arm has to fit. From the drawing on the Lofrans website I have some dimensions and have used my CAD program to calculate that the spindle axis is 147mm high from the base and about 95mm back from the front of the base. Can anyone confirm those dimensions?

Thank you, someone else is looking at the week-end, and will try to get me the 10mm gypsy measurements. I am going to make a bracket to bolt down alongside the windlass and hold a stripper arm in position, and want to make it here and take the parts out to turkey when I go, leaving just final adjustment to be done there. I can make it in two pieces and have them welded together after marking the correct position

My setup is shown in this photo, and the bracket to hold the stripper will have to be bolted down to the thick black plastic mounting plate. I need to do this because on occasion the incoming chain fails to separate from the gypsy and becomes jammed under itself, on one occasion forcing the lot off the gypsy and causing the whole chain to run out uncontrolled.

Interesting setup indeed! I also have a Tigres with 10mm chain gipsy and might be able to provide precise measurements and pictures in a couple of weeks or so.

You probably already thought of it but the best way to fix the stripper plate in your case seems to be welding it on top of the small bridge at the end of the chute, coming up almost parallel to the chute itself. In fact an additional bridge closer to the gipsy would help in solidity.
