Been away a while but back now and having had a seized winch motor thought i'd finally sort it. Separated motor from gearbox to find it half full of water!. Stripped and dried amazingly turns Ok under power. However one of the carbon brushes has fallen apart. Does anyone know where I can get a set of carbon brushes for the Airon winch. Looking for heavy duty type with two copper strands to brush. 12v 500W rated, not yr average drill motor type?

Also anyone got insert tools for AD41 injector sleeve, I'm south coast based, and in the trade, do the likes of Motortech hire out such things?

Cheers for any advice

I had the same winch and took the motor to an electric motor repair company. They restored it for about £90.
I used Knowlton and Newman near J2 of M27.
Cant help with the sleeve.

There are several firms out there who will make custom brushes if you send them one of the old ones as a pattern. Ive had it doen but can't remember the details off the top of my head.

Success! Now spins beautifully in both directions. So my attention now switches to the gearbox which I still can't get off the boat, and to make sure that it's operating as smooth as.
