Lofrans Airon - help on dissasembly

Hi,

Yes it does pull straight off. Unless you have regularly greased it though, it will (may) require some relatively serious leverage. I remove and grease the cone on my Airon each year, so can just lift it off for maintenance (more grease!) but I suggest you try using a couple of old broad width chisels or similar, one each side, gradually tapping them in towards the shaft.

The clutch cone traps a key into a slot in the shaft, and once you have broken the friction on this, the cone will/should come off easily.
