Loctite - shelf life once opened

I was looking for some Loctite this morning. Halfords were out of it but had some Granville Lock Thread. Is this just as good? I need it for the anode on a folding prop.

I run a refrigeration compressor remanufacturing business. Having tried various imitations of Loctite I absolutely insist we only use Loctite own products and will quickly return anything else we may receive masquerading to do the same job.

We once had a very large compressor smash itself to pieces because a retaining nut had not locked properly. So Loctite may seem expensive for the quantity purchased, but the sum that one compressor cost would have kept our business in Loctite for at least 100 years.

These are our base lines ...

Thread locking - High strength 277; Medium strength 243

Thread sealing 577

Note Also good for refreshing gaskets and especially tired O rings when a new one is not easily available. Glued O rings cannot be used in refrigeration systems because the gases attack the glue, as they will attack Viton O rings and PTFE tape. In any other applications Fluorine based elastomers are virtually inert, but not when using fluorinated gases.
