Question,

Should I use Loctite when tightening up/fixing the anode on my sail drive?

Will it affect the electrical integrity?

That’s all, I’m stressing about this!

Yes you can use a thread locker on the screws
The contact surfaces between the anode and the SD must be clean and free from paint etc to ensure good electrical contact.

Use a blue variant. The red ones set like concrete and need heat to loosen.

I have not used any thread lock on my sail drive anode before, but it does not mean that perhaps I should have! It is a Yanmar SD20

I like to use a multimeter after assembling it, to check good conductivity between the anode and the -ve of the 12v system. Gives a nice bit of peace of mind.

Likewise, just nip the screws up with Tefon or similar marine grease. There's absolutely no possiblility that it won't be electrically connected with or without Loctite, grease or whatever, forget testing.

Don't panic.

Good advice above. You don't mention the Saildrive and I can only comment on Volvo - the segmented anodes on the prop boss fit neatly and you only need a spot on the end of the Alan key bolt to secure. I find the plate like anode that fits onto the actual Saildrive more of an issue and simply make sure that the 2, star headed, bolts are tightened up and that the anode does not move, again you only need a spot on the ends. Follow the advice to use Blue Loctite, Red is fine but its a bit OTT and does need heat when you come to replace.

But there should not be continuity to DC negative if the sail drive is isolated as many /most VP sail drives are.

I did not realise the Yanmar SD was not!
