Lock Keeper\'s death
I just received this from the Commodore of the Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club.

It is with great sadness that I have been informed of the death of Brian West. As many of our members will know Brian was the lock keeper at Sonning for many years. He always gave excellent service not only to our members but to all river users. The family has requested that the funeral information be passed on to our members.
The funeral will be held at Reading Crematorium at 13.30 hrs on Thusday 26th February. Afterwards at the Plowden Arms ( opposite Shiplake College ).
Family flowers only but donations if wished for Cancer Research UK may be sent c/o Cyril H Lovegrove, 58, Briants Avenue, Caversham. Cards can be sent to Mrs Diana West, 57, Fairwater Drive, Woodley, Berkshire, RG5 3JG.
