Agreed - but planning, timing and extent of closures is of concern. Thames is a highway and there are no diversions available. Blake’s closure means no access between Thames and Kennett for almost 5 months.
Good time to carry out a census of all boats on the river though whilst they are trapped !

EA have just advised that the starting date for works at Bell Weir and Blake’s has been delayed to 13 November but completion dates should not be affected. The locks currently remain open for passage.

Molesey Lock works now delayed until 18/19 season, so will be full open throughout the coming winter
