SWMBO aka SnowCat, (in whose name our registration is made) has voted for Teddington, citing their kind & helpful attitude. She said she uses the lock as a cruiser owner, rowing cox & kayaker.

:D

Teddington is always the lock you are most pleased to see....
Be it for a bit of calm coming from the salty side or simply the exit from the Thames back into the real world !

It used to be so, however:-

Quote The Best Lock award is an opportunity to recognise the important work of lock and waterways staff who help make the River Thames a great place.

Since EA destroyed the gardens (for some locks) for H&S reasons, the emphasis has moved away to a more general view.

Makes it very difficult to give an unbiased opinion...

I don't need the nicest lock keeper award , i've already won that a couple of years back ;)

Come and have a look around Teddington if you don't believe me , this year is the best i have ever seen it , and i meant that seriously.

Steady H you are in danger of knocking that Shead bloke off the 'blowing my own trumpet' award.:D

Seriously will pop down and have a look once I've sorted out why my stbd. engine insists on emptying its coolant into the bilges.
