Lochranza

One final word, if you don't get as far as Lochranza on that day, a stop over in Lamlash bay is good, nice and sheltered, dinghy ashore and the Drift Inn on the shore just North of the pier, is a nice pub with good food.

Have a good holiday.

Cheers

Ah yes, that is one place I have visited but only to do MOB drills as part of my Day Skipper! Never ventured on shore but loved the look of the place so will bear that one in mind.

Thanks for your help.

Just an update on last weekend. Didn't make it to Lochranza on the Saturday as planned. We had F8 gusts and mod/rough sea so felt heading up through Kyles might be the better option.

Got to Lochranza on Sunday morning though and the pontoon was great though probably just as well it's 3 hours maximum as spending the night would expose you to the wash from the ferry! It's a great idea though and we got chatting to a local chap who was really helpful, friendly and happy to see us and what a stunning place. Bumped into two wild deer who were really tame but didn't have time to get to the distillery - will save that one for another day.

I was impressed with the new pontoons in Tarbert - great improvement. I can also recommend the Corner House Bistro - had a fabulous meal for 12 of us in there.

Sorry to hear that Sunsail are leaving Largs. I've sailed with them 7 times over the last couple of years. Not sure what we'll do now.
