WEST LEIGH BUOY
TEMPORARY EMERGENCY WRECK
MARKING BUOY
A vessel has sunk in position 51° 30.586458N 000°38.728122E in the vicinity of the W Leigh
Middle Buoy.
While measures are put in place to recover the vessel a temporary Emergency Wreck
Marking Buoy has been placed to warn mariners.
The buoy is fitted an alternating blue and yellow flashing light with a nominal range of 4
nautical miles where the blue and yellow 1 second flashes are alternated with an interval of
0.5 seconds.
Attempts to recover the vessel will be carried out as soon as possible.

Yes, it does now. The location is not far from the Small Craft crossing point but out of the way north of the West Leigh Middle. I have drawn up an image showing the location in the Temporary List on: http://www.crossingthethamesestuary.com/page9.html

It should be up now.

Heard today that it may have been a narrowboat under tow to smallgains creek to be used as a houseboat. Not confirmed though.

Just spotted the followup NTM saying that the narrowboat is about to be recovered soon.

Being towed, I believe.

The NTM has just been cancelled, raising of the boat delayed..
