Out off the East Coast over the last few days between Blackwater and Deben. Noticed less lobster pots in the usual places (ie inshore off Walton, Felixstowe shoreline) but a lot (8 or more) all poorly marked and very close Medusa bouy. Not an issue on a clear day but a serious hazard in rough conditions, poor visibility or after dark. In there current position they are unfriendly sited and pose a hazard to safe navigation (especially for those unfamiliar with the area and using Medusa). Anyone know whether these can be reported and some authority discourage or remove / relocate them?

Sth cork is vegy bad and hha should sort it

There are a few annoying and badly marked just by the breakwater at mouth of Harwich harbour - one actually barely above water.
They have been there for some years. Knowing that they are there, they concern me less as I keep a sharp lookout when passing by, or avoid the area if the sea is broken up and they may not be visible. I don't know about the Medusa ones but the ones just off the Naze are usually the hardest to see, especially if there is a sea running or spring tides.

Been round the Naze several times this year, and it's pleasing that there are definitely many fewer than there used to be. Still have to be on the ball though.
