They all sailed past the office on Wednesday. Lots of sail set which looked nice, but pointless as there was no wind.

Sailed down the Orwell on Thursday morning, watched an armada of about 20 French-flagged tall ships in line astern heading for Ipswich. All were under full sail as they passed Landguard in 15-20 knots of south-easterly, most were dropping their sails as they passed the container port.

They left yesterday evening and kept Hawich VTS busy for a few hours trying to keep them out of the way of the big ships.

I sailed up the Orwell amongst them on Thursday morning. I kept pace with three of them all of the way to the lock, and there was plenty of encouragement from the crews who seemed to be on a Dutch corporate jolly.
