Lloyds iindividual moulding certificate

Hi everybody!

Looking at the documents that came with my boat I discovered that this certificate could be bought from the sales department.
Since the company which produced her -Tamar entreprises Ltd.- is no longer working,I guess,how can i get this certificate.?
It would be of great value to me since the boat was purchased in holland where no registration is the norm and i am having problems legalizing her in my own country

Pedro, I might be wrong, but I think that this Lloyds moulding certificate would only have been issued after the Lloyds surveyor had inspected the hull (and deck/cabin mouldings as well?) after it came out of the mould. There might also have been a requirement for the surveyor to be present when the mouldings were being laid up.
Hence it would be pretty much impossible to try and obtain such a certificate 25 - 30 odd years 'down the road'.

Regarding registering the boat in your country, what is the procedure? I ask this, as the authorities here require a certificate of survey (along with Bill of Sale) for a vessel before they will register her. If you were to get a survey done, to prove that the boat exists and is in satisfactory condition, then that might help?

Certificate is normally issued with the boat on initial commissioning and stays with the boat. It is usual that Lloyd's or other Classification Society Cert. is issued against first production boat having been inspected through its build. Depending on class of certificate, it can also be a lot less, in fact issued against materials used in construction and a final survey before leaving for trials. Note we are still talking prototype / first build.
Only rarely are individual craft surveyed through building by Classification Societies, and if they are - it is extremely expensive.

The only marine vessels that do often have Classification Society attendance during build for their Certificates are Merchant Vessels.But again only when buyer requires. Otherwise it is just built to the specifications of the Society and Certificated accordingly.

If you require a Certificate later on - then maybe you can approach Lloyd's direct with all information about Yard built, Company who built, HIN, year built etc. You may be lucky.

Problem with the name Lloyds, is that it is used by so many unconnected companys and institutions. The best way to identify the relevant people is to ask a Boat Builder or Broker, maybe they can point to the right contact.

Lloyds in this case does mean Lloyds Register of Shipping who are a Classification Society - not to be confused with Lloyds of London who are the marine insurance people - and despite the same name, there is absolutely no connection between the two organisations.

I will try to contat Lloyds!
The problem is that this boat has no registration at all...so impossible to make a registration here..
The previous owner kindly tried to make a registration in Holland for me but it was impossible.
That is why i am trying hard to get as much info about the boat to show our boureacrats here...the more papers you show them the more chances one gets to have the things done.

Until then i will happilly sail under Dutch flag...saving a lot of money
