Liveaboard in Cardiff ?

My nephew is looking for a cost effective way to live in Cardiff, he asked me if living on a boat was feasible. I've said yes to the living on a boat but in Cardiff ? Any thoughts / advice ?

I can see there is one marina and two yacht clubs, do they allow lliveaboards ? What other mooring options might there be ?

you can liveaboard anywhere!
Nothing wrong with Cardiff either, the marina just up river there are a few there.

Didnt mean to imply there was anything wrong with Cardiff, simply that its outside my experience/knowledge

I know of a number of livaboards in Cardiff Bay...what would you like to know ?There are two YCs, one has water and leccy,the other doesn't..Penarth and Cardiff Marinas are good places to live aboard with lots of aminities a close bike ride away..I think year round living is officialy frowned upon..but I think a blind eye is turned.
